Q. What Should My Daily Consumption of Hydrate2o Be?
A. Some physicians recommend 8 glasses of water per day. That would be 64 ounces of water. Others recommend ½ fluid ounce of water for every pound of weight. That would be 75 ounces of water for a 150 pound man. Still another school of thought suggests that any fluid intake can count against your daily fluid requirements. The fact is there is no clinical data to suggest what the daily water requirements are to maintain health. From a professional standpoint I use the ½ ounce of fluid for every pound of weight. I count all forms of fluid, tea, coffee, milk, juice, provided the client is eating a healthy diet loaded with fruits and vegetables which contain predominantly structured water. I recommend that at least half of the fluid intake be from structured water. So my recommendation is ¼ ounce of Hydrate2o for every pound of weight. The 150 pound man or women would drink at least 37.5 ounces of water or basically two bottles. A 200 pound person would drink 50 ounces or three bottles and eat a healthy diet. That has always tested out to provide a hydrated body in a clinical setting, hydration being measured in the clinic by a bio-impedance machine.

Q. How Much Hydrate2o Should I Drink When I Exercise?
A. A simple technique for determining how much water to drink during exercise is to weigh yourself before and after an intense exercise session, making sure you do not consume fluids during the workout. The weight loss will be directly related to your hydration needs. All of the weight loss will be fluid loss. You need to drink as many pounds of water as you lose in weight. That applies for workouts and competition. Test your weight loss for a mild exercise period and you will get a good handle on your hydration requirements for different levels of activity.
The good thing about Hydrate2o is the fact you can drink it all through out the competition and workout. Hydrate2o absorbs very rapidly into the cells and hence you can replace fluids on a continuous basis. There is no delay time. Normal water takes up to 60 minutes to reach the cells. Structured water can be there in 20 to 30 minutes. Once you determine your weight loss during an intense 30 to 60 minute workout, you will know how much water to drink during competition. Continuous water intake is the best way to keep the body hydrated. Hydrate2o is the best water for constant fluid replenishment. Drink water throughout the entire game not just at halftime. Know your hydration needs for fluid replacement and you will have an optimum hydration program.
Water weighs 8 pounds per gallon. You need to drink one gallon of water for every 8 pounds of weight loss during exercise. There are 128 oz of water per gallon and therefore you need to drink 128 oz of water for every 8 pounds of weight loss or 16 oz for every pound. Drinking less then 16 oz of water for every pound of weight loss measured during exercise will lead to dehydration. Intense exercise means you lose fluid faster then moderate or easy exercise. That is why you need to measure your hydration requirements for several levels of intensity. You need to replace the lost water at the right rate. It is ok to consume a little excess water, but it is possible to drink too much water.
Q. Why Might I Feel Dry Mouth When Drinking Hydrate2o?
A. Assuming you are not affected by any of the disease states (alcoholism, dehydration, diabetes, hypothyroidism, sarcoidosis, Sjogren's Syndrome) or the medications (chemotherapy, antibiotics, drugs, radiation therapy) that cause dry mouth, your experience related to exercise are dehydration and weather. Exercise without adequate fluid replacement leads to dehydration, which is the best known cause of cotton mouth to an athlete. Exercising in an air-conditioned gym is equivalent to exercising in a low humidity environment. Breathing through the mouth, a common thing during exercise will bring in low humidity air that will increase the evaporation rate of water found in the mouth. The evaporation of water leaves the mouth feeling dry.
Cotton mouth from dehydration of the body can be dangerous. Cotton mouth from the rapid evaporation of water in the mouth is a feeling and may even induce a metallic taste, as the mineral salts found in the saliva are concentrated on the tongue. How quickly you feel the cotton mouth during exercise depends on many factors.
One is the intensity of the exercise. This determines how rapidly you inhale and exhale air to the lungs; hence the wind speed of the air flowing by the mouth is set by the intensity of the exercise. The quicker you breathe hard, the quicker you will feel the cotton mouth. The more the air conditioning system has lowered the humidity of the air in the room, the quicker you will feel cotton mouth. Extremely hot dry air found in the desert can also give the feeling of cotton mouth, as desert air is also low humidity. Cotton mouth due to the rapid evaporation of water in the mouth may be uncomfortable, but it is not particularly dangerous.
Drinking structured water immediately prior to the exercise may contribute to the evaporation rate of the water in the mouth. A structured water, such as Hydrate2o, has a lower viscosity and a lower surface tension. It is thinner and wetter water. The smaller structures of the Hydrate2o are also easier to evaporate. As you exercise you begin to move the water from inside the cells to the skin and mouth. This is the water mobilization effect. The skin releases water in the form of perspiration to cool the body by evaporation and the mouth to humidify the air you are breathing. Structured water improves hydration; hence the body can more efficiently regulate the temperature of the body and can more efficiently humidify the air as it enters the lungs. Both effects improve athletic performance.
The improved evaporation capacity of the body means better performance. You sometimes feel this as cotton mouth and more profuse sweating. This is not related to dehydration. Within 5-6 days of drinking Hydrate2o consistently you will no longer get this feeling.
Q. What is the source of Hydrate2o water?
A. Many water companies today focus on the source of their water. Our emphasis, is our proprietary process, which always begins with purified water. We require our bottlers to comply with strict requirements and high standards of operation in order to ensure the highest possible quality product.
Q. What is Structured or Re-engineered Water?
A. Structured Water is a new concept whereby water molecules organize themselves through a proprietary process which reconfigures the molecular structure of purified water. It is a manufactured replication of the natural hexagonal structures (six molecule clusters) found in all fruits and vegetables as well as new born infants – A mimic of cellular water.
